The biggest gap is infrastructure, not soft skills

Splitting every matched and missing keyword by type shows a consistent mismatch. Cloud & infrastructure accounts for 33.9% of everything candidates were missing but only 12.9% of what they already had. Ways of working runs the other way — 17.8% of matches against just 6.2% of gaps. Resumes tend to over-describe how someone works and under-list the platforms the posting names.

The skills people list but cannot prove

A missing keyword is not the only way to lose a match. A skill can be present on the resume and still score weak, meaning the term appears — usually in a skills list — with nothing in the experience bullets demonstrating it. This list runs differently from the gap list above: ways of working terms are the ones candidates most often claim without evidence, and per the category split they are also the terms candidates already over-list — 17.8% of matches against just 6.2% of gaps.
